Once upon a time
The canal in front of our house
Was a bathing place ,
Women around our village
Used to come to have a bath there .
When Kaliyamma appears there
For her bath ,
The whole place becomes silent.
Pantana bushes , growing along the canal , bloom
When her wild honeycoloured body
Dips in and out of water,
Looking at Kaliyamma’s breasts and thigh
Women used to pull their faces.
Women have palpitation
When they think that their men,
Like fence posts ,
Send their taproots deep in her.
At dusk , standing in her veranda
Looking south, She used to make her hairdo
Gathering the deepening night
Descending the hills , the wind
Secretly creeping through the window,
Get into her bed laying beside her, caressing her
Shiny tanned face ,
Those who accidentally slipped in-between her thighs
Wander aimlessly thereafter .
Nobody knows when Kali disappeared
No pantana bushes bloomed ever since ,
No wind descended the hills,
Still, lucky few witness
Kali spreading the night in the bushes
while doing her hair.

രമ്യ തുറവൂർ
കാളിയുടെ മുടിക്കുത്ത്….
വീടരികിലെ തോട് ഒരുകാലത്ത്
കുളിക്കടവായിരുന്നു
ചുറ്റുവട്ടത്തുള്ള പെണ്ണുങ്ങളൊക്കെ അവിടെയായിരുന്നു കുളി
കാളിയമ്മ കുളിക്കടവിലെത്തിയാൽ
അവിടമാകെ നിശബ്ദമാകും
കാട്ടുതേനിൻ്റെ നിറമുള്ള ഉടൽ
വെള്ളത്തിൽ മുങ്ങി പൊങ്ങുമ്പോൾ
തോട്ടുവക്കത്തുള്ള കൈതക്കാടൊക്കെ പൂത്തു തുടങ്ങും
അവളുടെ തുടയും മുലയും കണ്ട്
പെണ്ണുങ്ങളൊക്കെ
ചിറികോട്ടും
അവളുടെ വീടിന്നരികിലെ വേലിപ്പത്തലിനൊ പ്പം
നാട്ടിലെ ആണുങ്ങളൊക്കെ അവളിൽ വേരാഴത്തിയതോർത്ത്
പെണ്ണുങ്ങളുടെ ചങ്കിടിക്കും
എന്നും സന്ധ്യയ്ക്ക് വരാന്തയിൽ നിന്ന് തെക്കോട്ട് നോക്കി,
പടർന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന രാത്രിയെ ആകെ
മുടിയിലാവാഹിച്ച് വാരി വളച്ച് കെട്ടും
കുന്നിറങ്ങി വന്ന കാറ്റ്
ജന്നലുവഴി ഒളിച്ച് കടന്ന് അവളുടെ
കറുത്ത് തിളങ്ങുന്ന കവിളിൽ ഉരസ്സിച്ചേർന്ന് കിടക്കും
അവളുടെ തുടയിടുക്കുകൾക്കിടയിൽ
വഴുതി വീണവരൊക്കെയും
ഗതികിട്ടാതെ ഉഴറും
പിന്നീട് എന്നു മുതലാണ്
കാളിയെ കാണാതായ- തെന്നറിയില്ല
പിന്നീടൊരു കൈതക്കാടും പൂത്തിട്ടില്ല
പിന്നീടൊരു കാറ്റും കുന്നിറങ്ങി വന്നിട്ടില്ല
പക്ഷേ
കാളിയുടെ മുടിക്കുത്തിൽ നിന്നും
തെക്കേ കാവിലൊക്കെ രാത്രിയെ കുടഞ്ഞിടുന്നത് കണ്ടവരുണ്ട്..
