It settled
I flicked it away
It floated
Nonchalantly, I flung it from my path
Into nowhere
For the perpetual, cruel cycle of life to resume

Elsewhere
Where, maybe
Just maybe
A delicate leaf suspended in the still of the air
Let it settle on, what seemed, a sea of viridescent vegetation
On its path to nowhere

Elsewhere
Where, maybe
Just maybe
It wafted in through the window ajar
And settled, unsettled
Lay among its kind
On a biosphere of life, teeming
Unknown; in the wools, polyesters of the rug
Content with a life; having known no other

Blissfully ignorant
